Although it’s hard, and mentally challenging, I’m really enjoying my new job.
I’m learning so much along the way

Also! The head teacher has offered me a permanent position working in a Special Needs capacity on a new scheme that’s starting in September
So even if B ( the little boy I currently work with) leaves after the summer holidays, I still have a job to go back too!
I must be doing something right uh

I’m going to Appleby Horse Fair on 6th June with the Travellers Education Service.
I’m hoping to learn more about Travellers, their way of life and culture, as we take a lot of travellers children into school.

The horse show, which is held over seven days, is attended by Romany and travelling communities from across Europe.
For almost 350 years, horses have been ridden into the River Eden to be washed.
The fair for horse trading began at the site in 1685, when James II granted it the protection of a charter. It is attended by 25,000 visitors each year.
It is said to be the largest horse fair in Europe and attracts Travellers from country-wide who arrive in a mixture of colourful horse-drawn caravans and modern vehicles.
At the event, horses are raced in front of prospective buyers. And, to prepare them for the day’s trading, they are washed in the Eden.

I’m looking forward to it!

Yep I passed the interview and they offered me the job there and then!

I’ll be looking after a little boy with behavioural and learning difficulties in a one on one area.
Obviously I can’t give too much detail (data protection ) it’s only temporary, depending on how he progresses, but it’s my job to help him progress as much as possible.
Who knows, it could lead to other things.

I’m working at the school I did my placement with when I was training so I know much of the staff, just have to meet and get to know the new staff that’s working there.

I’m really looking forward to this opportunity. It’s the field I want to progress in myself so has he’s learning, so will I.

First day of work is Monday 14th April.

I have a job interview !!!!
on Friday 11th April at 11:30am!
It’s only temporary ( 12 weeks) and it’s only about 16 hours a week, helping a child with learning and behavioural difficulties but it’s a start.
And..it’s at the local school where I did my training.
I’m sure they were interviewing on the 8th, maybe no one was any good and I’m second choice but I don’t care! lol!
Now all I have to do is convince them that I’m awesome

(SEN stands for Special Educational Needs)

And what an awesome way it started for me!

Happy New Year to you and yours and all the best for 2008! I hope you had a wonderful start like I did and this is a sign of things to come.
I ended 2007 and began 2008 with my family and a special someone who I met at the beginning of December.
S ( as I shall call him on here ) has entered my life with all I can descibe as “amazing”. I really can’t think of any word in the English language that can describe how I feel when I’m with him, how I feel when we’re apart ( he lives in another town, 50 minute drive from me).

We get on so well it’s like we’ve been together for years!
Only downside, he spent from Friday to Tuesday here with us and now I feel so empty and alone. I’ve even found myself looking round to talk to him, so I’ve sunk myself into doing the washing, and catching up with mail and PC stuff since I got up.

I’m hopeful for the future more than I’ve ever been in the last 11 years.

On this years agenda first and foremost is job hunting eek!

It’s been a long time coming, and took a lot of stress and worry, but yesterday I finally recieved word.

I PASSED!!

I am now a fully qualified Teaching Assistant/Support Worker

I’m still waiting for my certificate, but the course team leader worte to me personally to let me know the news.
I’m so glad it’s all over!
Now the had part begins in the new year…I need to find a school to work in and start earning some money

Well i’m finally starting to feel a little better. Yesterdays me time on the PC turned out productive and kept me from feeling sorry for myself

I need to get better by tomorrow because I’m travelling with J & J to Maidstone with my very pregnant friend Becky.
I’m going as second driver incase Becky can’t drive for much more, so most of the way I’ll be passenger.
I’m looking forward to the drive, haven’t been that far out for a long time, and I’ll be taking my camera incase there’s some cool shots to grab along the way. Even if most of the travelling will be done on the M25 & M1 * groan* but who knows what we’ll see.

We intend on coming straight back after J & J have been dropped off at the B&B, I don’t fancy driving back in the dark and as the clocks went back an hour last week, it’s already dark by 6ish.

Sunday Becky ( non delivery permitting) and I are going to see Elizabeth The Golden Years at the Cinema.
It looks very interesting and being a fan of history sounds right up my street.
I’ll be sure to blog about it anyway after

I’m poorly yet again , this time with a viral infection.

It’s started out as a chect infection for which the doc won’t give me any Anti-Biotics because she insists its viral. And today I’ve started with a full blown cold to match

I love the winter but I hate the viruses that come along with it.
But never mind, I see it as a way of relaxing, and staying indoors warm and catching up on stuff

Well I took my coursework portfolio into Apex on Wednesday ready for the Assessors reveiw.
We meet on Friday the 13th ( oh yeah ideal day ) to see if I have passed or need extra evidence for my completed NVQ.
I’m not looking forward to it, I’m nervous and actually feel sick when I think about it.
This NVQ is going to make such a dramatic change to our lives here.

However just incase I do need extra placement for evidence, I think I have secured a place at the school.

It comprises of a expensive thankyou card
and an even more expensive bottle of wine for the principal 
Bad news is… I have already enquired about a potential job and the school is already over staffed, well if it’s for paid work anyway, but I’m more than welcome to attend on a voluntary basis. I suppose that’s better than nothing, as I’ll be gaining more and more experince by the day, and if any situations do become vacant, I’m in there to find out first hand

So fingers crossed for next friday  I’ll update when I know more

And I thought yesterday was horrid outside! Today is even worse!
